Inspired by Alvar Aalto's furniture design style,
Aalto Chair is a bifunctional home armchair which
provides the user the flexible options whether to
use it as a table or home furniture.

Alvar Aalto was a storyteller. Each of his
transformative works in wood formed a point on
a line, each fully realized but never complete.

The object disguises its functionality. Once
activated it becomes a place to rest, the user
displacing the appearance of the original form
that it may afford a very particular kind of sitting.
From this vantage, we look back through Alvar
Aalto's stories, all the way to the beginning of the
chair, and of Aalto himself: in to the forest.
