This wristband, property of Tecnalia Research & Innovation and Repsol S.A., is aimed at the monitoring of workers’ activity in industrial plants for safety purposes. It has two main functionalities: localization of workers all over the plant and bidirectional communication between the control centre and workers for emergency situations, such as panic button and no motion. The wristband consists of several wireless communications modules: NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and UWB. It has an autonomy of 1 year, it is waterproof (IP67) and it is certified for use in explosive spaces (II 2G Ex ib IIC T4 Gb).
