What one expects from kitchen utensils? Ergonomics: the dimensions of handle has being carefully studied to hold firm yet naturally in the palm of one’s hand. Durability: traditional knifes used to feature a full tank metal structure. Often neglected nowadays in order to save cost on material, this structure has the advantage of great strength. It distributes the force deployed while cutting onto the handle, providing efficiency but most importantly avoiding the blade to bend or break in your hands. The design principle behind Yootensel is to create a safe object of long-term value.

Bio
François Hurtaud begun his design career in 2008 as a studio designer after graduating from Masters Degree in Advanced Studies in Cross-cultural Design at Shanghai University and a Bachelor in Industrial Design at L’Ecole de Design de Nantes in France.

Hurtaud then headed the design force for several consumer goods companies where he demonstrates his understanding of the power of social and sustainable design, cross-cultural and the precarious balance of function and form in luxury design and production.
