Woobi Play
Woobi Play is an anti-pollution mask for
children that filters at least 95% of
dangerous airborne particulate matter (PM).
The mask is designed to meet children at eye-
level, with a playful, educational approach,
and is a bold shot at designing a simple, new
typology, that transforms a professional mask
to fit into a child’s universe.
The high-performance filter is positioned on
the side of the mask, allowing the
translucent, medical-grade silicone to reveal
the face, rather than hiding it as many other
masks on the market do. This improves social
interaction between the kids who use the
product and their caregivers, and Woobi
achieves high performance while remaining
sensitive to social needs.
The mask comes disassembled and with a
manual,
encouraging kids and parents to put the parts
together themselves, piece by piece, to build
the finished product. This helps them to
understand the product’s functionality and
encourages a dialogue on pollution.
The different coloured parts act as a
simplifying tool for communication around the
product functionality, and also allow users to
individualise the product, giving them a sense
of ownership and autonomy over their own
safety.
