muylatina, meaning coming together, stems from the desire to bring together 40,000 years of pakana culture & 21st century technology to create a piece that encourages people to gather & share. Each basket, modelled on the traditional pakana diving basket used to gather food, is woven using 9 strands of the local Dodda vine, symbolising the 9 Aboriginal nations of Tasmania, a homage to people and place. The table, mass-produced using nanotechnological material & CNC routing, embraces the table with its precision and seamless curves, contrasting the organic form, making each table unique.
