Today, in architecture, we have seen a rebirth of earthy materials in construction, more so in coastal areas. Stucco and plaster details combined with wood have become drivers for design. Challenged to gather inspiration outside of furniture, I decided to reference these coastal residences. How can architecture inform the furniture that will inhabit it? I created this bar cabinet with the intention of capturing the essence of plaster and stucco. Contrasting this organic nature by using wood in the form of sleek slats, superimposing the plaster base, creating a unique piece.
