I grew up understanding the value of community with shared meals and memories created as we gather around the dining table with our neighbors, friends, and strangers.
Understanding the value of social gathering in dining, the NOOR collection investigates the development of geometric form and design language from the context of Ethiopia’s rich culture and heritage to bring together the nation of Ethiopia divided by the Civil War.
NOR, ~/knor/, is a physical gesture of respecting elders, guests, and anyone around you. It is performed by getting up from the seat if seated and bowing the head.
